For over 30 years we have provided transaction advisory services to clients, across a variety of sectors, in their business acquisition strategy throughout Europe. Our multilingual team assists our clients in every step of the buy side M&A process. We focus on the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland).
Frenger’s buy side M&A advisory services cover the following sectors:
Frenger started working in security in 2005 with France’s leading man-guarding company: Seris. We were instrumental in the acquisition of the Belgium subsidiary of Rentokil Initial for Seris. Since then, we have helped other security companies like Scutum who completed their first acquisition in the UK in 2015.
We assist companies within the nuclear sector in their cross border expansion strategy into Europe. Frenger’s team in this sector is composed of both a British and a French nuclear expert. Both have experience working for prominent companies like Areva, and Government organisations such as UK Trade and Investment and the Atomic Energy Authority.
TIC: Tests Inspection Certification
Frenger has recently enlisted the support of a British expert who brings more than 30 years of experience in the TIC sector, with reputable companies such as Intertek and BSI, in order to better advise our clients in this highly fragmented and technical arena.
IT : Information Technology
Our experience in the IT sector began in the late 1990s during the internet revolution. At that time, we worked with companies such as Fi-System (for whom we made 4 acquisitions in the UK), Cross-System, Com6, Business & Decision. In recent years we have worked with groups such as SopraSteria and Wavestone for whom we have successfully completed several acquisitions in the UK.
B2B distribution in Europe is dominated by large groups seeking to absorb smaller companies. This is with the aim of accelerating their development and to consolidate the market. We have a plethora of experience in the distribution sector, with more than 15 transactions initiated and managed across Europe. In 2016, Frenger assisted Descours & Cabaud in its acquisition of Hayley PLC, a leading distributor of MRO products in the UK. Another leading French player in this field – Manutan – have also conducted 3 acquisitions with Frenger’s help over the past 36 months.
From rail transport to electrical engineering, our M&A advisory team bring our customers a personalized service and many strategic opportunities. For example, we advised Systra – one of the leaders for public transport infrastructure consultancy – on an acquisition that enabled the group to strengthen its position in the UK market.
We have been operating successfully in the automotive sector for over 25 years; namely, by supporting the international expansion of French group Delfingen, for whom we have completed 9 acquisitions in North America, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Our experience in the recruitment sector is very strong, with 8 fully completed deals. We have worked with Europe’s 5th largest Human Resources group, Synergie, for over 10 years; this has seen us complete 5 acquisitions in the UK and one in Germany on their behalf. Frenger also advised the family-owned French recruitment services provider Proman on 2 acquisitions in the UK.
The health and social care sector has seen increased interest from private equity investors as well as US buyers. We have developed a strong expertise by working on several deals in the Home Care market in the UK.
DIGITAL & MARKETING
Our growing expertise in the Digital Marketing sector started with 4 acquisitions for Fi System. More recently, we advised the global marketing and print management company, Altavia, in its diversification strategy in the UK.
Frenger has completed over 10 deals in this sector, with several ongoing transactions. Our clients include large groups, such as Synergie, Seris, Proman, Solucom and many others. Frenger plays an active role in helping them achieve their strategic growth objectives.
