ARCELORMITTAL acquires NSD Ltd in the UK with the help of Frenger International - More Information
Arcelormittal is the world’s number one steel company with 320,000 employees in more than 60 countries. ArcelorMittal Distribution sells steel products to small and medium size customers from a network of regionally located depots. AMD is headquartered in Reims, France and generates annual sales of over €3 billion. AMD operates in 30 countries and currently employs around 5,200 people.
Although AMD had a strong presence in Continental Europe and in particular in France, Spain, Benelux and Germany, its UK presence was limited to a small operation with sales of less than £10m. Jacques Dham the Managing Director of AMD explained that several attempts to acquire businesses in the UK had failed in the past for a variety of reasons. Frenger International was called in to facilitate the acquisition of a significant steel distribution company in the UK. This initial acquisition would then be used as a platform to make further bolt-on acquisitions to expand the regional coverage and increase market share.
BRAMMER acquires its third business in Europe in less than 12 months - More Information
Brammer recently announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Cumbria Bearings & Transmissions Ltd - a British distributor of bearings and power transmission products. The consideration is undisclosed.
Based in Carlisle, Cumbria, Cumbria Bearings & Transmissions is the leading specialist in the North West of England, and for 20 years has supplied bearings and power transmission products, such as bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics and gearboxes.
BRAMMER expands its footprint in France - More Information

ALMA CONSULTING GROUP gets a foothold in the UK - More Information
Alma Consulting Group (ACG) is the leading cost reduction consultancy in Europe. In 2008 Alam achieved revenues of close to €250 million with 1,500 employees. For many years Alma was ranked as the most profitable fast growing company in France. It was acquired in December 2007 by the British Private Equity group Candover for €800 million.
ACG helps its clients to reduce their costs and claims refunds from suppliers through the auditing of several types of expenditures from personnel, tax, pension, utilities, telecom to tax credits and genereal costs. ACG offers to its clients a very attractive "no saving no fee" model.
It is only recently that ACG started to venture outside of the French market. The group is now present in the UK, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Italy, Portugal, Canada and Israel.

Synergie SA is a leading temporary placement companies in Europe with sales of €1.4 billion. It has operations in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic, the UK, Switzerland and Canada. The company is quoted on Euronext.
After managing the acquisition of Acorn Recruitment in Wales to provide Synergie with a platrform for expansion in the UK, Frenger was involved in advising Synergie on the acquisition of Advance Personnel Ltd in the Midlands. Soon after the completion of that transaction, Acorn was offered the opportunity to acquire a very succesful temporary placement company in the South West, Concept Staffing Ltd.
