BRAMMER acquires its third business in Europe in less than 12 months
Background
Brammer recently announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Cumbria Bearings & Transmissions Ltd - a British distributor of bearings and power transmission products. The consideration is undisclosed.
Based in Carlisle, Cumbria, Cumbria Bearings & Transmissions is the leading specialist in the North West of England, and for 20 years has supplied bearings and power transmission products, such as bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics and gearboxes.
Frenger's role
Frenger International advised Brammer throughout the transaction, and is also the exclusive advisor to Brammer for its acquisition programme across the UK, France and Germany. The team, led by Jean-Noël Mermet, initiated the deal and managed the negotiations throughout until completion. After inititating discussions with the main shareholder, Frenger built a confidence climate between CBT and Brammer allowing for a rapid and seamless transaction between both parties.
Conclusion
This is the third acquisition managed by Frenger in less than 12 months on behalf of Brammer, and forms part of Brammer’s acquisition strategy to strengthen its position as European market leader, by broadening its product range to key pan-European accounts, and to extend its geographical coverage of the UK market
